چکیده

The Assured Forwarding Per Hop Behavior (AF PHB) has been devised by the IETF Differentiated Services (DiffServ) working group to provide drop level differentiation. The intent of AF is to support services with different loss requirements, but with no strict delay and jitter guarantees. Another suggested use of AF is to provide differentiated support for traffic conforming to an edge conditioning/policing scheme with respect to non-

Transport of TCP/IP Traffic over Assured Forwarding IP Differentiated Services

The Internet is currently facing a twofold challenge: to increase network capacity in order to accommodate a steadily increasing number of users, and to guarantee the Quality of Service for existing applications as well as for new multimedia applications requiring real-time network response. In order to meet these requirements, the Internet Engineering Task Force is currently defining the Diffe...

Empirical study of buffer management scheme for Diffserv assured forwarding PHB

The IETF Differentiated Services Working Group has recently standardized the Assured Forwarding (AF) Per Hop Behavior (PHB). RFC 2597 recommends that an Active Queue Management (AQM) technique be used to realize the multiple levels of drop precedence required in the AF PHB. The most widely used AQM scheme is RED (Random Early Detection). There are several ways to extend RED to a Multilevel RED ...

A New Routing Architecture for DiffServ Domains

This paper 1 proposes a new DiffServ routing architecture (PAP) that integrates the admission control signaling and the QoS routing. It differs from traditional routing in its ability to route most Expedite Forwarding (EF) traffic along the shortest paths while making use of alternative paths to absorb transient overload. Once an EF data flow is admitted, its performance is assured. The overhea...
